David Warren Olson
David Olson (CRD# 1700644) is a former Florida-based broker who was most recently employed by Morgan Stanley. David Olson was barred from the securities industry by FINRA in March 2018 after he failed to produce documents requested by FINRA as a part of their investigation into allegations that he had engaged in undisclosed outside business activities.
According to the letter of acceptance, waiver, and consent in the case, Mr. Olson failed to inform his employer, Morgan Stanley, that he had tried to obtain a loan from one of his customers in order to fund his outside investment. Just a couple of weeks prior to his being barred from the securities industry, David Olson was suspended by FINRA for failure to repay Morgan Stanley $403,679 for promissory notes that he received. The firm subsequently won an arbitration award against Mr. Olson for compensatory damages totaling the balance of the notes.
