Sonn Law Group is investigating claims regarding Stefani Ann Bennett (CRD #5890347, Salmon, Idaho). Bennett recently submitted a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent in which she was barred from association with any FINRA member in any capacity. See FINRA Case #2014039668101. Bennett was registered with was registered with U.S. Bancorp Investments, Inc. from August 2011 until her termination in December 2013. Bennett had also been employed with U.S. Bancorp’s affiliate, U.S. Bank, since March 2005.
Without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, Bennett consented to the permanent bar and to the entry of findings that she impermissibly withdrew $100,000 in cashier’s checks and cash from a customer’s estate checking account with her member firm’s bank affiliate, which Bennett converted for her own use and benefit. FINRA also found that Bennett arranged to have five cashier’s checks issued to her personal creditors totaling $97,592.41, and that she kept $2,407.59 in cash.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, U.S. Bancorp was responsible for properly supervising Bennett’s activities during the time Bennett was registered with the firm. Therefore, U.S. Bancorp may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Bennett’s customers.
