Financial Planner Larry Templin Sanctioned by FINRA and CFP

financial-planner-larry-templinLarry Templin (CRD# 2440316) was a previously registered broker and investment adviser with Centaurus Financial based in Temple, Texas.

Following an investigation into allegations of bank fraud committed by Mr. Templin, FINRA permanently barred him from the finance industry (Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent No. 2018058711201).

Mr. Templin’s certification by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) was also permanently revoked.

According to FINRA, Mr. Templin was discharged from his following allegations of bank fraud, which FINRA began investigating after receiving a Form U5 termination notice from Centaurus.

During the investigation, FINRA requested certain information pursuant to FINRA Rule 8210.

Mr. Templin declined to answer the request, instead choosing not to produce the information. By refusing to produce the information requested under FINRA Rule 8210, Mr. Templin also violated the ethical requirements of FINRA Rule 2010, prompting FINRA to bar him from the industry.

In addition to the FINRA sanctions, Mr. Templin’s certification by the CFP Board was revoked. Mr. Templin’s certification was automatically suspended when the CFP Board became aware of the FINRA investigation.

Mr. Templin’s CFP certification was later permanently revoked when he failed to file an answer to the CFP Board’s complaint regarding the FINRA investigation and the Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent.
