Former HD Investment Services Broker Erin Verespy Barred for Misappropriated Client Funds

From 1998 to 2019, Ms. Verespy was employed at HD Vest Investment Services and was based at a branch office in Trumbull, Connecticut.

On April 15th, 2019, former HD Vest Investment Services representative Erin Verespy was barred from the securities industry after she failed to cooperate with a FINRA investigation into allegations that she misappropriated client funds.

In January of 2018, a customer filed a complaint against Ms. Verespy alleging substantial investment losses related to the misuse and misappropriation of funds. Eventually, this FINRA arbitration claim was settled by Ms. Verespy for $1,000,000 in financial compensation.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) launched its own inquiry into the allegations raised against former HD Vest advisor Erin Verespy (NO. 2018058108001).

Ms. Verespy acknowledged that she received the requests from the agency, but, she, through her counsel, declined to offer any testimony or documents to investigators. This is a violation of FINRA Rule 8210. Without admitting any wrongdoing, Ms. Verespy consented to the proposed penalties, a bar from associating with any FINRA member in any capacity.
