FINRA Complaint: Atiq U. Khan

In December of 2013, Atiq U. Khan was terminated from his position at TransAmerica Securities after allegations arose that he was soliciting the company’s customers to purchase certain financial products in direct violation of the written procedures. This included allegations that he was improperly setting himself up as a beneficiary on a client’s insurance policy. Upon receiving notification of his termination, FINRA launched its own investigation into the conduct of Mr. Khan.

Despite sending multiple requests, FINRA alleges that Mr. Khan has failed to appear for on-the-record testimony. This is a violation of FINRA Rule 8210, which compels registered representatives to cooperate with regulatory investigations. The agency is now seeking sanctions against this former broker. As of early July of 2018, this legal complaint is still pending.
